Boston Dynamics has demonstrated its Atlas humanoid robot performing fully autonomous warehouse operations including picking, packing, and palletizing diverse products without human intervention. The system uses advanced computer vision and dexterous manipulation to handle items ranging from small electronics to heavy boxes.
The company reports that Atlas can operate continuously for 16 hours on a single charge while maintaining a pick accuracy rate of 99.2 percent. The robot navigates dynamic warehouse environments alongside human workers using real-time spatial awareness.
Three major logistics companies have signed agreements to deploy Atlas units in their distribution centers beginning in the third quarter of 2026, marking the first large-scale commercial deployment of humanoid robots in warehousing.
