Figure Robotics announced a landmark partnership with Amazon to deploy its Figure 02 humanoid robots across 10 Amazon fulfillment centers by the end of 2026. The deal, valued at an estimated $675 million over three years, represents the largest commercial humanoid robotics contract to date and signals growing industry confidence in human-form robots for logistics applications.
The Figure 02 robots will perform picking, packing, and sorting tasks that currently require human workers to navigate complex warehouse environments with irregular item shapes and sizes. Each robot can handle approximately 70% of the item types found in a typical Amazon fulfillment center and works alongside existing Kiva mobile robots and human employees.
Amazon VP of Robotics Scott Anderson said the partnership complements rather than replaces the company's workforce, addressing persistent labor shortages in warehouse operations. Amazon currently employs over 1.5 million people globally and said no existing positions will be eliminated as a result of the robot deployment. Figure CEO Brett Adcock described the Amazon partnership as validation that humanoid robots have reached the reliability and cost-effectiveness required for large-scale commercial deployment.
