Amazon has revealed its next-generation Prime Air delivery drone capable of navigating complex urban environments, flying between buildings and landing on apartment balconies to deliver packages in under 30 minutes.
Technology
The MK30 drone uses lidar, computer vision, and AI path planning to navigate city environments safely. It can detect and avoid power lines, birds, and other obstacles in real-time.
Rollout
Amazon is launching the service in 15 cities by end of 2026, with packages up to 5 pounds delivered for free to Prime members within a 10-mile radius of fulfillment centers.
